Facebook has launched a new feature that allows you to easily find the profiles of people who are close in physical proximity to you.
In a contrast to previous Facebook apps which have been mainly aimed at helping you to strengthen your connections with already existing friends, the new app has been designed to help you make more connections.
The ideal time with which to use this app is for example when you are out with some people who you have recently met and want to keep in touch with via Facebook. This tool provides a very easy way of swapping contact information with several people.

It has already been suggested that this new tool is ideal for networking events and conferences, which brings about the idea that Facebook may be considering moving into the business networking arena which is currently dominated by LinkedIn.
How it works, is when you are logged into Facebook, and the app, in a matter of seconds anyone in your area who also has the app page open should appear on the list.
The app is opt-in, and is available online as well as on Facebook’s Android and iOS versions. That is quite rare for new Facebook products, but due to the sensitivity of the information that is being shared, it makes sense that Facebook would avoid the usual problems that it faces whenever it launches a product that automatically shares your data.
